Sequel To Wall Street In The Works

A sequel to the classic 1987 film is in the works and Michael Douglas is slated to return as the money crazed mogul Gordon Gekko. Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original, told the New York Time he had signed on to develop a sequel called Money Never Sleeps.

The title for the sequel comes from one of Gekko’s memorable lines in the original. Douglas won an Oscar for best actor in 1988 portraying a character who came to represent the worst of corporate excess of the 80’s.

Mr. Pressman told the New York Times that Gekko went to jail at the end of the first film but would not give details of the sequel’s plot. Original director Oliver Stone has turned down the opportunity to make the follow-up.
